In a recent youth survey, 99% of CYC children said there is a trusted adult at CYC to whom they can go for guidance. When it comes to working with our children, CYC holds our college interns to the same standard of excellence as staff members. That can be a lot of pressure for college students, but our interns from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and Western Illinois University have exceeded the CYC program team’s expectations with their relationship-building skills, enthusiasm, and content knowledge.

Currently, interns are supporting with community mapping, mental health advocacy, recruitment, and program delivery. Interns from IIT are especially important for our STEAM clubs. Students are pursuing careers in STEAM and they provide a wealth of information for students interested in the STEAM field.

CYC is grateful for our partnerships with local universities and the talent and support our interns provide. Thank you to our hard-working interns!
