New season, new club offerings

Children learn how to keep plants healthy and thriving in CYC’s gardening program.

The leaves are changing and so are CYC’s school-age enrichment offerings! Each program session, CYC provides different clubs based on student and parent feedback. CYC is currently offering a hybrid program with scaled in-person learning and/or virtual enrichment sessions. Families select which program track they feel most comfortable pursuing.

One of the many clubs new to CYC this session is the Bookmark Club. Inspired by the Netflix series in which celebrities read books written by African Americans, this course is a celebration of African American stories. Students read new books each week then engage in a corresponding activity focused on self-love or self-care. At the end of the program session, students will receive three to four of their favorite books from the readings.

Additional clubs new to CYC this fall include piano, social-emotional learning through art; My Voice. My Space. My Rules: an LGBTQ+ Safe Space; storytelling in the digital age; hip hop dance; anime; and more. These clubs are offered in addition to some of our most popular clubs from the summer session such as cooking, gardening, and coding.

Virtual programs are provided Monday through Friday with small, in-person cohorts meeting twice a week at our Centers. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Early Learning or Out-of-School Time Program click here.
