Travelers Safari Adventure Day: A "Roaring" Good Time

Thanks to a $15,000 grant from the Travelers Foundation, the charitable arm of The Travelers Companies, Inc., Chicago Youth Centers (CYC) hosted Travelers Safari Adventure Day on Wednesday, July 23 at CYC’s Elliott Donnelley Youth Center in Bronzeville. A summer carnival for children ages 3-5, more than 150 Head Start children from seven CYC centers participated in the event. With help from the Travelers Foundation and their New to Industry volunteer team, 40 volunteers led children through ten safari-themed activity stations including a scavenger hunt, bingo, and a relay race, followed by a family-style lunch and performance by The Poetic Storyteller, Oba William King.
