CYC - Rebecca K. Crown Youth Center Awarded $10,000 in Get Schooled, Get Connected Challenge

Crown Check On Monday, January 19, Chicago Youth Centers was invited to participate in the inaugural Get Schooled, Get Connected Chicago Challenge Celebration. The event recognized 1,500 high school students for their semester long performance and participation in the Get Connected Challenge. Get Schooled is a national nonprofit funded by the Bill Gates Foundation. Their unique approach is to help students plan their futures and to provides students with the access to college preparatory materials and resources.

Thanks to Steven Willis, Manager of Family Engagement, Rebecca K. Crown Youth Center (Crown), 12 teens participated in the challenge, coming in first place in the Chicago-based organization category. At the event, the group was recognized for their achievements and received a $10,000 check to support technological access at the Center. Congratulations Rebecca K. Crown Youth Center!
