Smiling From Ear to Ear

Winter storms can’t get in the way of learning at CYC. During a remote and snowy day, our Early Learning students read a story entitled, “This Makes Me Happy”. Following story time, the children discussed what makes them smile and feel happy.

Each child then drew a happy face to share with their classmates, families, and educators. One student said that he was “happy today” because he got to “share with my mommy”.

Even when we can’t all be in the classroom together, we love seeing opportunities for our students to learn, engage, and bond with their families. Exploring and articulating emotions are critical competencies for our younger learners. Clearly, a happy time was had by all!

Smiles continued to abound over at CYC’s partner site, Little Kiddies. The children received a dental treatment exam from the staff at Sunrise Family Dental Center. All of our brave little learners were excited about seeing the dentist and receiving their dental safety kits! Program manager Nakaye and Family Service Associate Shimyra reported that they thoroughly enjoyed seeing big and bright smiles on the children’s faces that day.

Whether it’s a visit from the dentist or reading a great story, CYC is proud to deliver positivity and possibility. Taking care of our physical bodies is just as important as prioritizing mental health and wellness. CYC loves caring for our little ones from the inside out!
