Program Director - SeasonalLocation: Camp Rosenthal
Job Purpose: Perform functions to oversee the day-to-day operations of a designated program facility. Select, orient, supervise and evaluate program staff. Schedules program staff and volunteers as needed to implement program. Conduct regular supervision and planning meetings with program staff. Prepare administrative statistical reports related to programs. Responsible for providing group social development services, supports, and opportunities for children and youth members participating in the resident camping program. Plan, implement, and monitor camping programs and evaluate personnel and program effectiveness to ensure that planned objectives are met and outcomes are achieved. Participate in budget planning and control activities as assigned by Camp Director. Orient staff and volunteers and locate outside referral services for program needs. Ensure that the facility, climate and resources are maintained in an effective manner including the ongoing management and inventory of all program supplies and equipment assigned to site. Meet regularly with the Director of Camping Services for the purpose of program development, planning, implementation and evaluation. Ensure that residential camping programs and services are developed and implemented in accordance with the positive youth development model and best practices. Ensure that both campers and counselors are encouraged to provide suggestions and have ongoing input in the program design, scheduling and activities of the camp community. Attend assigned community group meetings to promote the camping program. Work in collaboration with the Director of Camping Services to raise funds and awareness to create resources for the camping program. Requirements: Bachelors’ degree in recreation, social services administration, education or related area. 3-4 years related program development experience. 1-2 years supervisory/management experience. Strong communication and organization skills (verbal and written). Computer expertise (Ms Word, Excel, etc.). Desire to live and work in a camp community. |
