CYC Maker Lab Featured on NBC Chicago’s Making A Difference Segment

posted by cyc_admin

NBC 5 Chicago visited CYC-Rebecca K. Crown in Chicago’s South Shore community to learn about CYC’s Maker Lab,
a creative and technical workshop where children and teens can see their creativity come to life with software and tools
like 3-D printers and vinyl cutters. CYC was able to build this Maker Lab thanks to the support of CareerBuilder and
Rivers Casino. CYC is building its second Maker Lab at CYC-Elliott Donnelley Youth Center thanks to the support of
Tyson Foods.

NBC spoke with CYC Board Member Roger Shores, CYC Family Engagement Manager Steven Willis, and CYC
participant and future scientist Alainia. Watch the video to find out how the CYC Maker Lab is making a difference.

The mission of Chicago Youth Centers (CYC) is to empower children and teens to recognize and experience their full potential.
